Collaboration for Well-being of 海角社区 Employees

Published: 2 May 2019

海角社区鈥檚 central Human Resources department is made up of a number of Centres of Expertise. Within the Centre of Pensions & Benefits, there are quite a few new faces these days. Among them, a new position focused entirely on the well-being of 海角社区 employees.

Sara Charbonneau brings to the position of Health and Well-being Advisor valuable experience as manager of the WELL Office of the Faculty of Medicine, where she contributed to creating, promoting and sustaining a culture of wellness and resilience within the learning environment. In her new role in HR, she will be expanding the existing well-being program for employees and developing the strategy for the future of the program. Also bringing their expertise to the team are Benefits Advisor Genevi猫ve Veilleux, Benefits Manager H茅l猫ne聽Paquette,聽and Pension & Benefits Administrator Anthony Festoso (all pictured).

New colleagues have opened the door to new collaborations. One of those is鈥his newsletter! The areas of Organizational Development, Benefits, and the office of the AVP HR joined forces to launch this inaugural issue of the My Healthy Workplace newsletter, MHW News, the idea for which聽traces its roots back to the My Healthy Workplace Working Group, which is made up of 海角社区 staff from around the University. The collaboration will go well beyond those units聽as the newsletter develops and reflects the cross-campus collaborations of the My Healthy Workplace initiative itself.

The MHW initiative has been coming into its own over the last year, as the successor to the My Workplace program initially launched as one of Principal Fortier鈥檚 top priorities. In its current form, with strong support from Executive Sponsor Yves Beauchamp, it provides opportunities for staff all across the university to collaborate to improve the ways we work, whether聽through joining a Learning Community, building awareness as an Ambassador, submitting ideas through the Great Ideas Pipeline, or even writing an article for this newsletter! You have ideas and you can find the channel you鈥檙e comfortable with to express them and help turn ideas into reality.
