MGBC 2006 (VOICES: Conversations in the Community) was a great success! Notable speakers included Laurence Lewin (La Senza), Elliot Lifson (Peerless), Pablo Restrepo (Tandem Insourcing), Dick Pound (IOC), Mitch Joel (Twist Image), Dave Wilkins (VertigoXmedia) and Mark Albion (Making A Life, Making A Living). A special fashion show presentation by Arianna Rabinovitch (owner of Fly and Three Monkeys boutiques) and her models closed out the day with a bang, turning heads and making people stomp their feet to the music DJ'ed by Mike Kennedy of SoundCheck. Conference co-chairs Stephanie Berger and Wajih Atallah would like to extend special thanks to Maggy Ivanova and Tara Glazer for their hard work! We are also most grateful to RBC Financial for hosting the cocktail in their private suites on March 2.

The most rewarding part of the day's sharing was with the youngsters of (Leave Out Violence) and with the . The artwork of LOVE youth was displayed in the lobby area all day and youth were on hand to talk with conference attendees. Proceeds from the ticket sales were donated to the Foundation and amounted to over $1,600.

Plans are already under way for next year, with two alumni (Zainab Schwartz and Del Chatterson) and one almost alumna (Stephanie Berger), committing to help out. Anyone interested in helping the conference planning committee with MGBC 2007 should email mgbc.mgmt [at] mail.mcgill.ca (MGBC).
