ECP Welcomes Professors Eve-Marie Quintin and Marina Milyavskaya

Dr. Eve-Marie Quintin will be joining the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology in August 2014 as an Assistant Professor in School/Applied Child Psychology. Dr. Quintin holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the Universit茅 du Qu茅bec 脿 Montr茅al. She worked as Postdoctoral Researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology, School of Psychology, and is a registered psychologist and neuropsychologist through the Ordre des Psychologues du Qu茅bec.

Dr. Quintin conducts research designed to elucidate the trajectory of cognitive and socioemotional functioning in neurodevelopmental disorders, with a focus on autism spectrum disorders and fragile X syndrome. The overarching goal of her research is to produce results that can improve diagnostic procedures, education programs, community and family services, and health care for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. Her work combines cognitive-behavioral and neuroimaging methods and cross-sectional and longitudinal research designs.

Dr. Marina Milyavskaya will be joining the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology in January 2015 as an Assistant Professor in Counselling Psychology. Dr. Milyavskaya holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from 海角社区, as well as her M.Sc. and B.A. from 海角社区. Most recently she was an Adjunct Professor in the School of Psychology, at the University of Ottawa and a SSHRC Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Psychology, at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Milyavskaya鈥檚 research examines the contextual and individual factors that promote successful goal pursuit and attainment as well as the self-regulatory mechanisms implicated in this process. Other research interests include autonomy support, health behaviors, attachment, and well-being across the lifespan.
