Along the sidelines of the old Macdonald College football field, a ring of oak trees has stood for 75 years in memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice in World War I. Now a permanent memorial 鈥� a bronze plaque on a granite base 鈥� tells the story of how the trees were planted by students to honour the 34 young men from Macdonald College and Macdonald High School who perished in the war.
