Robert Leckey to head Paul-Andr茅 Cr茅peau Centre
We are pleased to announce that Professor Robert Leckey has been appointed Director of the Paul-Andr茅 Cr茅peau Center for Private and Comparative Law, for a three-year term beginning August 1, 2014.聽
A William Dawson Scholar, Associate Professor Leckey teaches and conducts research in constitutional law, family law, and comparative law. In 2014, he was selected for membership in the Global Young Academy. Professor Leckey will be taking up the reins from Professor Lionel Smith, who has headed the Centre since 2007 and who accepted a two-year Killam Research Fellowship beginning this Fall.
The Faculty wishes to express its deep gratitude to Lionel Smith for years of distinguished service at the helm of the Centre, and to Robert Leckey, for his willingness to play this most important role in the Faculty鈥檚 research and governance.

Founded in 1975 by Professor Paul-Andr茅 Cr茅peau, the Paul-Andr茅 Cr茅peau Centre for Private and Comparative Law (formerly the Quebec Research Centre of Private and Comparative Law) endeavours to promote the civilian tradition in Canada and develop it through a philosophy of openness to the lessons to be learned from other legal traditions.
