Student Andrea Buitrago Carranza to participate at next U21 Undergrad conference
Second-year law student Andrea Buitrago Carranza has been selected to participate in the聽2014 Universitas 21 Undergraduate Research Conference (URC), which will be hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, July 7 to 11. This year, the theme is Food Safety: From Farm to Table.
Andrea is among three students chosen by 海角社区鈥檚 Deputy Provost's Office to represent the University at the conference with either a poster or an oral presentation. Her oral presentation is entitled "A Closer Look at What Happens between the Farm and the Table." In it, she will discuss food contamination not as a local, but a global concern to which international legal regimes are central. Andrea, who holds a Master's in Public Administration, is studying law in order to have a better understanding of the dichotomy between domestic and foreign policy. She is particularly interested in public international law, globalization and the role of states in the new economic order.聽
