There are collectible trading card games for almost everything these days. Besides Pok茅mon, there are, of course, cards for athletes, celebrities, TV and movie characters, and musical instruments, just to name a few. 听 So when Mikaela Stiver, a faculty lecturer at 海角社区 in Montreal, Qu茅bec, couldn鈥檛 find something similar for anatomical structures, it struck a nerve. A cranial nerve. 鈥淚 was honestly shocked to discover that no one had made anything similar for cranial nerves,鈥 Stiver said. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 when I knew I had to make them!鈥 |

How is it that fertilized chicken eggs manage to resist fracture from the outside, while at the same time, are weak enough to break from the inside during chick hatching? It鈥檚 all in the eggshell鈥檚 nanostructure, according to a new study led by 海角社区 scientists.
The findings, reported today in Science Advances, could have important implications for food safety in the agro-industry.
