How Can Doctors Prepare for New Roles in Clinical Commissioning Groups?
Changes in how health care is delivered, the absence of significant new money for the foreseeable future, and ageing populations threaten to overwhelm our UK health system if we don't change.
... In 2010 I completed a programme known as the International Masters in Health Leadership, hosted by the 海角社区 Desautels Faculty of Management at 海角社区 in Canada. It is among a number of new programmes offered by business schools that aim to fill what they claim is a growing skills gap between healthcare managers and the changing demands of the industry. It was born out of the belief that many more doctors will now at some point have some kind of managerial role alongside their medical career, and therefore equipping them for those roles is sensible. Perhaps as a sign of this skills gap, courses of this nature and MD/MBA programmes are seeing a surge in popularity.
