Four years after Quebec聮s Summit on the Economy and Employment, how has the province fared in terms of job creation?

Conference speakers will include:

Jean Charest
Professor, Industrial Relations department, Universit茅 de Montr茅al

Professor Charest will examine the historical factors that have triggered variances between the Quebec, Ontario and Canadian labour markets

Judith Maxwell
President of the Canadian Public Policy Research Network

Ms Maxwell will analyse the historical aspects of Quebec聮s economic evolution to determine if the province聮s "new economy" is here to stay.

Andrew Sharpe
President, Centre for the Study of Living Standards

Mr Sharpe will look at the reasons why Quebec聮s job creation has lagged behind Ontario聮s, despite spectacular economic growth across North America.

Diane Bellemare
Honorary professor, Human Resources department, Universit茅 du Qu茅bec 脿 Montr茅al

Professor Bellemare will present labour statistics illustrating increases and decreases in job creation across Canada in order to evaluate how Quebec is faring compared to the rest of the country.

Alain-G. Gagnon
Director, Quebec Studies Program, 海角社区

Professor Gagnon will evaluate the effects of summits on the Quebec government聮s decision-making process.
