GCPA students awarded with Lionel Pelhan Kent scholarship

On June 13, the GCPA program awarded the Lionel Pelham Kent Scholarship to students Matthew Minuk, Joelle Salzman, Matthew Schryver and Angelica Wen.

The Lionel Pelham Kent Scholarship was established in 1998 to recognise academic excellence and strong communication skills, and is open to students in the final year of the GCPA program. The winning team is chosen based on outstanding skills in written and oral communication as demonstrated in a case competition.

GCPA raffle raises over $1,000 for West Island flood victims

The GCPA program raised a total of $1,515 through a raffle to support the Canadian Red Cross and victims of the West Island floods.

The winner was a second-year GCPA student, Steffi Nguonly, who announced that she too would be donating her winnings in support of the same cause.

Thank you to all members of the #DesautelsFamily who purchased raffle tickets and helped make the initiative a success!

Welcome new GCPA cohort

The Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting (GCPA) program is delighted to have welcomed 49 new students, along with a returning cohort of 45 that will write the Chartered Professional Accountants听of Canada (CPA) Common Final Exam (CFE) this September.

50 GCPA Students Successfully Passed the CPA Common Final Exam

Desautels students enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting (GCPA) program have written the CPA CFE (common final exam) and the results are in! We are pleased to announce that 50 students successfully passed the exam, while one among them, Marie-France Legault (BCom鈥15, GCPA'16), placed on the national听honour roll. Congratulations to all!听

GCPA student, Joshua Faier, awarded a scholarship from the CPA Foundation

Joshua Faier,听a GCPA student who will graduate at the end of this Summer term,听was awarded one of the scholarships from the Fondation des comptables professionnels agr茅茅s du Qu茅bec. The prize is valued at $2,000 and recognizes his outstanding academic achievement and social involvement.

Brittany Klumak, student of the Graduate Certificate in the Professional Accounting (GCPA) program, has been selected among her graduating class as this year鈥檚 recipient of the C. Douglas Mellor Prize for academic excellence.

On June 14, the GCPA program awarded the Lionel Pelham Kent Scholarship to students Josh Faier, Will Gendron-Saulnier, David Song, and Ming Xu. This scholarship was established in 1998 in memory of Lionel Pelham Kent, F.C.A., for high academic standing and communication skills, and is open to students in the final year of the GCPA program. The winning team is chosen based on outstanding skills in written and oral communication as presented in a case competition.
