Occupational Therapy (M.Sc.A.OT.)

Program Description

The Master of Science, Applied (M.Sc.A.OT.) in Occupational Therapy (Non-Thesis) offered by the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences is a course-based program that emphasizes career-focused and engaging learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in critical thinking, problem identification, and clinical reasoning to pursue professional opportunities (or potentially continue their studies).

Unique Program Features

  • Coursework focuses on client-centered and evidence-based practice, clinical reasoning, ethics, and professionalism. Learning activities train students (i.e., future Occupational Therapists) to be humanistic, ethical, knowledgeable, and competent with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
  • The program is completed in 1.5 years, or five semesters, and includes a clinical practicum of 1,000 hours leading to professional licensure to practice;
  • The Master鈥檚 project (final semester) is designed to develop research and scholarly skills;
  • The School is internationally recognized for the excellence of its contribution to research in rehabilitation.

University-Level Admission Requirements

  • An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
  • English-language proficiency
