Nicole Bernard
Nicole Bernard, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at 海角社区 and a member of the Infectious Disease Immunology and Global Health Program at the Research Institute of the 海角社区 Health Centre. Dr. Bernard received her Ph.D. from Duke University in Durham North Carolina. She completed her post doctoral training at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and the University of Toronto. She directs a research program investigating the mechanisms that underlie HIV resistance and control to inform the development of protective HIV vaccines and ways to achieve a functional HIV cure. This research program developed methods measuring antibody dependent functions. Dr. Bernard proposes that these tools can be applied to exploring whether patterns of antibody dependent functions influence and predict clinical outcomes in the setting of other infectious diseases. This hypothesis will be examined using Seed Grant MI4 funding.
