Exciting news from the Brass Area!Â
The º£½ÇÉçÇø Trumpet Ensemble, coached by Prof. Richard Stoelzel and Alexis Basque, is the first Canadian university to advance to the semifinals of the National Trumpet Competition! Held at the University of Delaware from March 31 to April 2, the National Trumpet Competition features renowned ensembles and young artists from across America while providing an educational, world-class experience for growth. Parker Bruce (current BMus) and Brian Copland (current BMus) have advanced as soloists representing Schulich in the semifinals of the undergraduate solo competition. Â
Christopher Keach (current MMus) has been selected as a finalist in the International Trumpet Guild Wind Band Competition. Competing in the finals at the International Trumpet Guild Conference from May 31 to June 4 in San Antonio, Texas. Â
Noah Bailis (current BMus) has won a scholarship to the International Trumpet Guild Conference in San Antonio, Texas and was just accepted to the trumpet section for the 2022 National Youth Orchestra.
Alex Freund (DMus'19), has won the position of second trumpet in the Atlanta Opera Orchestra.
