Cheryl Armistead has been a faculty lecturer at the Ingram School of Nursing since 2003. Believing that students and communities are transformed together, Cheryl led the creation of a campus-community partnership network central to the ISON Community Health Nursing curriculum. Highlights were student Forces Avenir Awards and sharing national recognition with partners via theÌý2013 Ted Freedman Innovation in Education Award – Best Emerging Practice. Cheryl has contributed widely to policy, political action and advocacy via Board of Director positions with the Community Health Nurses of Canada, the Canadian Public Health Association and the CISSS Monteregie Est. Cheryl recently translated her outlier lens and vision for authentic leadership into coordination of select Women’s Health courses in the Faculty of Medicine. Courses are designed to nurture an emerging network of students, faculty and political/societal models engaged in critical consciousness and action for women’s health and equity.
