Dear members of the º£½ÇÉçÇø community,
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to a new academic year after what I hope was a restful and memorable summer. Like many of you, I am so delighted to kick off my first full year at º£½ÇÉçÇø and to experience the beloved activities and traditions that define the º£½ÇÉçÇø experience.
As we transition out of the summer months and prepare for a bustling Fall term, we have a prime opportunity to recommit ourselves to º£½ÇÉçÇø’s mission with renewed energy and a refreshed perspective. This moment invites each of us to begin writing a new chapter for our great University – one that envisages what º£½ÇÉçÇø can be and what we aspire to achieve over the next 25 years.
With our sights set on the long term, º£½ÇÉçÇø’s unique positioning as a locally anchored university of global pre-eminence will continue to shape our future directions. So too will major initiatives such as the New Vic Project, which is poised to expand º£½ÇÉçÇø’s academic clout while making vital progress towards addressing sustainability and climate change.
Over the next year, we will, together, embark on an institution-wide exercise to define further our shared aspirations and vision for º£½ÇÉçÇø 2050. I look forward to communicating more details about this exercise with you soon.
In the meantime, I want to thank the º£½ÇÉçÇø community for their generosity in welcoming me into my role since April. I look forward to many more opportunities, both planned and spontaneous, to meet and exchange with you over the next year. Until then, I wish you a most enriching and successful academic year ahead!
Sincerely,
Ìý
