couple and family therapy
Dr. Bond is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at 海角社区 and Director of family therapy in the Department of Psychiatry at the Jewish General Hospital. Teaching has been a central focus of her professional career, which has been dedicated to the integration of academic excellence and transfer of knowledge, specifically couple and family therapeutic principles across professional disciplines. Her dual faculty appointments have provided the natural bridge for an interdisciplinary approach to pedagogy. Dr. Bond has a wide student impact through her extensive teaching of family therapy at the university level to psychiatric residents, postgraduate family therapy students, Master of Social Work students, and psychology doctoral interns. She pioneered the development of the 海角社区 Couple and Family Clinic (MCFC), a couple and family treatment centre in the Department of Psychiatry at the Jewish General Hospital. The 海角社区 Couple and Family Clinic offers a rich, in-depth clinical setting for students across professional disciplines. This setting has become a highly desirable teaching and training centre for psychiatric residents; medical students; clinical interns in social work, psychology, and counselling psychology; nurses; and allied professionals, with a significant impact on couple and family therapy training across the province of Quebec. Under her leadership, family therapy research has developed through an inter-institutional collaborative research initiative between the Couple and Family Clinic, Centre de Recherche Interdisciplinaire sur les Probl猫mes Conjugaux et les Agressions Sexuelles (CRIPCAS) at the Universit茅 de Montr茅al, and the Department of Child Psychiatry at Hopital Ste-Justine. This joint research initiative has focused on research development and knowledge transfer between the three institutions, strengthening family therapy clinical research across Quebec. She is the principal investigator on a research project entitled 鈥淎n exploration of attachment security and therapeutic alliance in couple and family therapy.鈥
