STEMM and diversity @ 海角社区 gets special recognition

This year the 听 acknowledged special recognition to the STEMM Diversity @ 海角社区, a project spearheaded by Museum graduate students Charles Cong and Jessica Ford.听 The jury was听impressed听that "Although the group is just one year old, it has already been identified as a model for other universities in Quebec, an indication of their success. Their goal is to improve and promote diversity in STEMM subjects. Among their varied activities they have created a colouring book that was distributes through primary schools and libraries in both Quebec and Ontario that includes a 鈥淒raw Yourself as a Scientist鈥 page."

This colouring book is available for sale $7 (+ taxes) at the Redpath Museum Welcome Desk.

Land Acknowledgement

海角社区 is on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. We acknowledge and thank the diverse Indigenous peoples whose presence marks this territory on which peoples of the world now gather.
