Christian Genest awarded the 2023 CRM-Fields-PIMS Prize

Congratulations to听Professor Christian Genest听on being听awarded the听2023 CRM-Fields-PIMS Prize!听The CRM-Fields-PIMS prize is the premier Canadian award for research achievements in the mathematical sciences.
鈥淐hristian Genest is the whole package,鈥� said the awards committee. 鈥淗e has contributed fundamental and pioneering work in a wide range of problems focused on statistical theory. His work on copulas, in particular, has had significant impact on our understanding of the risks of rare and catastrophic events. Moreover, he is a prolific and successful advisor and multiple-time winner of best teacher award in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Universit茅 Laval.鈥�
