Dr. Sadeghi presently serves as the Chairman in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at 海角社区.聽 He is also the Chief of the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the MUHC, and Director of 海角社区 Head and Neck Cancer Program.聽
Dr. Sadeghi graduated from 海角社区 Medicine in 1991.聽 He completed his residency at 海角社区 followed by a research fellowship.聽 He then completed a fellowship training in Head and Neck Oncology Surgery at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, IL.聽 Following his early career at 海角社区, he moved to the George Washington University in Washington, DC, where he served as Professor of Surgery and Director of Head and Neck Surgery.聽 In 2017, he returned to 海角社区 to lead the department.聽
Dr.Sadeghi鈥檚 research focuses on head and neck cancer and in particular on development of novel therapeutic strategies for oral and throat cancer. I focus on harnessing advances in systemic therapies and minimally invasive robotic surgery to develop novel combinations allowing effective cancer control and minimizing chronic therapy-related toxicity. Through adaptive clinical trials starting with systemic therapy, I am investigating a personalized adaptive approach for surgical treatment of oral and throat cancer. I am investigating molecular determinants of cancer response to chemotherapy to help design personalized treatment with a focus on cancer cure while preserving quality of life and functional outcome after cancer treatment.聽
