Self Advocacy: Becoming more comfortable with speaking up

Tuesday, January 21, 2025 12:15to13:15
Becoming more comfortable with speaking up

We all know that we should ask for what we need, speak up when something is bothering us, and have healthy boundaries around our work. However doing these things concretely is easier said than done for many of us.听 This workshop focuses on helping students understand why this is the case and build skills that will help improve effective and assertive communication as well as boundary setting.听 It is designed to give students tools to communicate their interpersonal needs, while nurturing healthy relationships and respecting themselves and others.

Date: Tuesday, January 21st 12:15-1:15

Location: L7-140, Montreal General Hospital

***Pizza will be served***

Please register 24 hours prior to the start of the workshop.

海角社区 is on land which has served and continues to serve as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. Teaching and Learning Services acknowledges and thanks the diverse Indigenous peoples whose footsteps mark this territory on which peoples of the world now gather. This land acknowledgement is shared as a starting point to provide context for further learning and action.
