WHEN to register

Registration start dates for newly admitted undergraduate students

  • Ìýopens at 9:00 a.m. on the first day of registration and runs 24/7. AsÌýhundreds of studentsÌýcan access Minerva at the same time, the opening-day rush means it may be difficult to log in during the first few minutes. Don’t worry, keep trying.

  • You can continue to make changes to your Fall schedule until the Fall add/drop period ends.Ìý Afterwards, you can continue to make changes to your Winter schedule until the end of the Winter add/drop period.
  • First, verify your Classification for registration (U0, U1, etc.), your program details and your registration time ticket by going to your Minerva Student Menu:ÌýStudent Menu>Registration Menu>Step 1:Ìý Check Your Registration Eligibility and Verify Your Curriculum.Ìý

Need proof that you’re registered?

You may need to provide proof you’re registered at º£½ÇÉçÇø for a variety of reasons: for your parents’ health insurance, or to get an International Student Card. Visit the Proof of Enrolment page for instructions on printing your letter.Ìý

Planning on using public transportation? You can order your Montreal reduced-fare public transitÌý(OPUS) card in Minerva (as of August 1st), go to mcgill.ca/opus for more information.

Your Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) may require that you provide proof of full-time status by August 1st; however, given that newly-admitted students can only register as of June, you are advised to submit a copy of your acceptance letter directly to your RESP provider (so they can start processing your claim). Once you have registered full-time, please refer to the RESP page for the next steps.
