NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowships Program

The Postdoctoral Fellowships (PDF) Program provides support to a core of the most promising researchers at a pivotal time in their careers. The fellowships are also intended to secure a supply of highly qualified Canadians with leading edge scientific and research skills for Canadian industry, government and institutions.

The NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowships Program is valued at $45,000 per year, for two years.

Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Program

The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Program is administered by Canada’s three research granting councils (the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada).

The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Program aims to attract and retain top-tier postdoctoral talent, both nationally and internationally, to develop their leadership potential and to position them for success as research leaders of tomorrow, positively contributing to Canada’s economic, social and research-based growth through a research-intensive career.

The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship is valued at $70,000 per year (taxable), for two years (non-renewable).

FRQNT Postdoctoral Research Scholarship

The objective of the postdoctoral research scholarship program is to foster up-and-coming researchers working in various research environments, by helping new doctorate holders to broaden their field of research. These scholarships also seek to encourage the mobility of researchers toward scientifically stimulating and dynamic environments. These environments may be universities, industries, government agencies and university affiliated institutions.

Postdoctoral research scholarships are intended for new researchers who obtained their doctorate and who wish to begin or pursue their postdoctoral research.

The FRQNT Postdoctoral Research Scholarship is valued at $45,000 for 2 or 3 years.

LiberEro Conservation Postdoctoral Fellowships Program

Eligible scholars will be exceptional natural or social science researchers, who have received their PhD prior to the start of the fellowship. Applicants should propose to be based at a Canadian conservation or academic institution and conduct their research primarily in Canada. However, Canadian citizenship is not required – researchers from any country are eligible to apply. Applicants will identify a mentorship team of at least one academic and at least one conservation practitioner mentor. Applicants are encouraged to identify the mentor team early in their proposal to foster a meaningful collaboration.
