"A leading advocate for children鈥檚听rights, Myriam Denov won the Prix du Qu茅bec鈥檚 Marie-Andr茅e-Bertrand Prize for social innovation.

Denov听conducted听groundbreaking research on war-affected children and families听for听more than two decades and on three continents.听Her research听explored the unique realities and complex challenges of child soldiers, girls in armed conflict and children born of wartime rape, as well as that of post-conflict reconciliation and war-induced migration and resettlement.听听

Professors recognized for work on war-affected children and families, development of 鈥榠ntelligent鈥 fabrics

Two 海角社区 researchers won Prix du Qu茅bec, the highest honours awarded by the Quebec government in the fields of culture and science.

Myriam Denov, Professor in 海角社区鈥檚 School of Social Work won the 鈥檚 Marie-Andr茅e-Bertrand Prize for social innovation.

Dr. Nicole Ives has been awarded the Meritorious Service Decoration 鈥 Civil Division in recognition for her leadership in developing Indigenous Access 海角社区.听

This honour, one of the highest in the country, and is conferred by Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary May Simon, Governor General of Canada. It is a testament to Nicole鈥檚 dedication and service to Indigenous peoples and communities in Canada. Each year, the World Cultural Council recognizes outstanding early career research leaders.

Professor Boatswain-Kyte听is one of four selected from 海角社区. A wonderful recognition of Professor Boatswain-Kyte critical work focused on child welfare, racial disparities and anti-Black racism, and Community engagement in pursuit of social justice.

Cincy Blackstock was honoured for her decades-long work advocating for the rights and welfare of Indigenous children.

The Royal Society of Canada (RSC) honours new Fellows.听 Among the three new Fellows elected to the Academy of Social Sciences is Professor of Social Work and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Children, Families and Armed Conflict,听Myriam Denov.

Her award-winning scholarship and advocacy for children and families affected by war and migration have been previously recognized with the SSHRC Insight Award and the Killam Research Fellowship. In 2015, Denov was elected a Member of the RSC鈥檚 College.听听

Nona Moscovitz, the instructor for the MSW advanced clinical practice Use of Self course and the BSW Integrative Seminar and Mental Health courses, 听has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the CIUSSS Centre-Ouest de I鈥橧le de Montreal as the mental health expert on the board.
