Biography: 

Michael graduated from 海角社区 in 2004 with a Bachelor of Education and began teaching Physical Education at the Secondary school level. In 2006, Michael took a leave from teaching and was hired as a coach for the National Canoe and Kayak team, where he coached a bronze medalist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.听 Michael continues to be a coach course facilitator and mentor for young coaches coming into the sport.

Post-Olympics, Michael returned to teaching and worked at both the Elementary and Secondary levels for 15 years. He focused on developing a quality Physical Education program and in doing this implemented many new initiatives into his schools, including an extensive Outdoor Education program. In 2018 he pursued a Master's in Educational Administration and Leadership and took on the role of Vice-Principal at both Elementary and Secondary schools for the last 3 years.

At 海角社区, Michael works with the pre-service Physical Education teachers helping to guide and mentor them as they move into the field.
