Request process for Faculty and Staff
Please allow a minimum of 5 working days for room bookings to be processed
IT WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE TO BOOK AN ALTERNATE ROOM FOR MIDTERMS DUE TO A UNIVERSITY-WIDE CLASSROOM SHORTAGE.
To use a general purpose classroom in any building on campus for course or academic-related activities during the Fall, Winter, or Summer sessions, faculty and staff must request access through their departmental administrative office. Please see guidelines below.
For non-course-related activities involving external guests or events requiring conference services or accessories, catering, alcohol permits, or multimedia set-up faculty and staff must submit a request through Events Bookings at 海角社区.
Room request guidelines and policies for course/academic-related activities
- To use a general purpose classroom for course or academic-related activities during the Fall, Winter, or Summer sessions, faculty and staff must request access through their departmental administrative office
- Only lecture or auditorium classrooms are available (including two engineering computer teaching labs)
- During the months of September and January, room requests for lectures, tutorials, and midterms have priority, and requests for events will be treated only after the course add/drop deadline
- Any Minerva Class Schedule-related changes are to be sent directly to the Departmental Timetable Coordinator
- Room requests for non-engineering activities/groups/clubs/associations must be made via
- Instructors must contact emf.support [at] mcgill.ca (EMF Support)聽to verify software requirements for their course when requesting an EMF lab
- If a room is occupied without making an official booking, occupants may be required to leave the room for an official activity
- Due to scheduled evening classes, there may be little to no available rooms after 6pm
- Food and beverages are NOT permitted in any classroom at any time. If a room is found in disarray after a booking you may be liable for cleaning services
- ICS provides a direct phone line in each classroom for technical help with room equipment.

Booking a room during a weekend
To book a room on a weekend, faculty, staff, and students must submit a request to Events Bookings at 海角社区. Requests must be made two weeks in advance.
Entrances to the McConnell Engineering Building, Macdonald Engineering Building, and classrooms are usually closed on weekends. Authorized individuals may enter through the main campus entrance of Frank Dawson Adams.
