This prestigious award recognizes her outstanding contributions to advancing patient- centered primary healthcare services across Quebec.
The M茅daille d鈥檋onneur is one of the highest honors bestowed by the National Assembly of Quebec, acknowledging individuals who have distinguished themselves through exceptional career accomplishments and significant contributions to the public good. Since joining St. Mary鈥檚 Research Centre in 2010, Dr. Haggerty has led pioneering research that has fundamentally redefined how patient experiences are integrated into healthcare delivery. Her work has been instrumental in shaping patient- centered policies that ensure healthcare services are responsive, compassionate, and effective. About Dr. Jeannie Haggerty
Dr. Jeannie Haggerty, PhD, has devoted her career to enhancing primary healthcare services through innovative research and visionary leadership. As the first holder of the 海角社区 Research Chair in Family and Community Medicine, her work has focused on integrating patient experiences into primary care services and developing measures for continuity of care from the patient鈥檚 perspective. Prior to joining 海角社区, she held academic positions at l鈥橴niversit茅 de Montr茅al and l鈥橴niversit茅 de Sherbrooke, where she held a Canada Research Chair.
Dr. Haggerty is the founding Scientific Director of the R茅seau de connaissances sur les soins primaires du Qu茅bec (R茅seau-1 Qc), a position she held from 2013 to 2024. She currently serves as Director of 海角社区鈥檚 R茅seau de Recherche Ax茅e sur les Pratiques de Premi猫re Ligne (RRAPPL). These networks have played a critical role in bridging the gap between research and practice, ensuring that healthcare improvements are informed by rigorous research and meaningful patient engagement.
