Community & Partnerships

The Department of Family Medicine approaches global health as an opportunity to support primary health care everywhere, and especially among underserved and vulnerable populations.

Our global health activities are defined by a commitment to health equity, respectful community engagement and the support of people-centered primary care services.

We do this through our work in the multicultural communities of Montreal聽and our diverse partnerships across 海角社区 and globally. We believe diversity sparks creativity and that collaboration is central to making a difference.聽

Our global health research addresses a range of issues spanning infectious and chronic diseases, safe motherhood, aging, HIV, community-based care, and indigenous health, as well as others聽identified by our聽community partners.

海角社区 is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. 海角社区 honours, recognizes and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which peoples of the world now gather. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
