Research Seminar: Primary Health Care Providers in Malnutrition in the Elderly
This seminar will be presented by Dr. Fitriana, the 2022-2023 recipient of the ‘Pierre Pluye International Prize for Master's Theses and Doctoral Dissertations Using Mixed Methods Research in Family Medicine Education.’ Her doctoral dissertation is entitled The Role of Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (IPCP) among Primary Health Care Providers in Malnutrition in the Elderly.
Dr. Fitriana's study results show that IPCP skills were significantly higher in the intervention group and were better compared to the control group (usual care). The intervention improved the patient- and family-centered collaborative approach. In addition, results revealed three main themes regarding the experiences of older adults with malnutrition and their families: IPCP provides comprehensive care, improves clinician-patient communication, and improves knowledge exchange.
This seminar is being organized by Department of Family Medicine's Family Medicine Education Research Group (FMER).

Research Seminar Series
Every month, a research seminar is held at the Department of Family Medicine, where we feature visiting researchers from other universities, or departments, and showcase the work of our own researchers. The seminars are attended by our graduate students, researchers and clinicians, and are open to the whole º£½ÇÉçÇø community. They address a wide range of research methods and topics relevant to primary health care, and provide opportunity for interaction and exchange with the speakers. The Research Seminars are Fridays at around noon.
