About Healthy Brains, Healthy Lives

Healthy Brains, Healthy Lives (HBHL) is an interdisciplinary program, built on 海角社区's global leadership in interdisciplinary neuroscience, that uses big data analysis to reveal the fundamental mechanisms underlying normal brain function and brain disorders. HBHL aims to accelerate translational discoveries and create a global centre of excellence in neuroinformatics at 海角社区 to improve brain health in Canada and around the world.

HBHL is made possible through support from the (CFREF), Quebec鈥檚 (MEI), and the Fonds de recherche du Qu茅bec (, and ).

Vision

HBHL's central vision is to reduce the human and socio-economic burden of psychiatric and neurological illnesses and improve the mental health, quality of life and productivity of Canadians and people around the world for generations to come.

Strategies

  1. Develop Capacity: Invest in people and infrastructure with the aim of supporting existing strengths and fostering the advancement of the next generation of neuroscientists at 海角社区
  2. Advance Discovery: Enable researchers to advance discovery across four themes, each featuring world-class leadership and expert interdisciplinary teams
  3. Accelerate Innovation: Facilitate the pathway from research to the marketplace, individuals, health-care providers and society at large
  4. Exchange Knowledge: Ensure research aims are informed by needs "on the ground" and translate discoveries into policies, educational strategies and improved work environments
