Abner Kingman Fellowships in Arts

Established in 2008 in memory of Abner Kingman, B.A. 1908, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his convocation.

Eligibility Awarded by the Faculty of Arts 听to full-time students in a doctoral degree program in Art History, Canadian Studies, Economics, English, History, Philosophy, or Political Science. Awarded on the basis of academic merit. Whenever possible, the Fellowships will be awarded to at least one international student each year.

Allen A. Lang Essay Award

Established in 2015 by brothers Mr. Morris Rotstein, BA 1954, and Dr. Abraham Rotstein, BA 1949, in honour of their cousin Mr. Allen A. Lang, BSc 1953, who was formerly known as Abraham Levitt.

Eligibility Awarded to the writer of the winning essay by the Faculty of Arts, upon recommendation of a committee selected by the Chair of the Department of English.

Allen Oliver Fellowships in Economics And Political Science

Established by Mrs. Frank Oliver, of Edmonton, Alberta, in proud and loving memory of her son, the late Allen Oliver, M.C., B.A. Lieutenant, 26th Battery, C.F.A., who was killed in action at the Somme on November 18, 1916. Lieutenant Oliver was an honours graduate in 1915 in the Department of Economics and Political Science.

Eligibility Awarded by the Faculty of Arts on the recommendation of the Departments of Economics and Political Science to the student who stands highest in first class honours in the Departments of Economics and Political Science at the final B.A. examination. The holder is required to pursue studies in Economics and Political Science at 海角社区 or elsewhere.
Value Two awards of $2,500 (one in political science; one in economics)

Archie Malloch Fellowships

Established in 2009 by Janet Blachford, BA 1961, MA 1963 in honour of English Professor Archie Malloch for outstanding graduate students entering or enrolled in the Faculty of Arts.

Eligibility Awarded on the basis of high academic standing by the Faculty of Arts. Preference will be given to students in the Department of English.

Arthur C. Tagge Fellowship in the Humanities and Social Sciences

Eligibility Tenable by a graduate of any approved university proceeding to a higher degree in any department in the Humanities or the Social Sciences. No citizenship restrictions.
Value $10,000; non-renewable. Awarded for one year only.

Arts and Science Class of 1966 Award in the Faculty of Arts

Established by the Arts and Science Class of 1966 on the occasion of its 25th anniversary of graduation.

Eligibility Open to graduate students in the Faculty of Arts to pursue collection-based research originating in the Redpath or McCord Museum. Awarded to one or more students by the Faculty of Arts on the basis of academic merit.

Canadian-Scottish Studies Fellowship

Established in 2020 by members of the St. Andrew鈥檚 Society of Montreal, friends and alumni.

Eligibility Awarded by the Faculty of Arts, in consultation with the Chair in Canadian-Scottish Studies, on the basis of academic merit for one or more graduate students pursuing research in Canadian-Scottish studies. Preference will be given to doctoral students.

Dr. Morris Karmazyn and Dr. Margaret P. Moffat Fellowship in Cardiovascular Research

Established in 2022 by Morris Karmazyn, MSc 1977, PhD 1979, to support an outstanding graduate student at 海角社区.

Eligibility Awarded annually by Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies on the basis of academic merit to one PhD student entering or enrolled in any faculty at the University, who is pursuing cardiovascular research. Preference will be given to a student conducting research in the area of heart disease related to myocardial ischemia, heart failure, or cardiac arrhythmias.
Value One award will be held at any given time. The fellowship is renewable and may be held for a maximum of four years.

Dr. Y. Lin-Oliver Fellowship

Established in 2012 by YanPing Lin, Ph.D. 1992.

Eligibility To support one or more outstanding graduate students studying liberal arts and universal values (freedom, democracy, and human rights) in the Faculty of Arts. Established in 2011 through the generous bequest of Prof. Frank A.
