1 will be active if the has not issued a notice to 鈥楢void all travel鈥 or 鈥淎void all non-essential travel鈥 to the country where you wish to travel. The travel advisory notices to 鈥楢void all travel鈥 or 鈥楢void all non-essential travel鈥 remain exclusions of the IHI contract (See page 15, Exclusions and Limitations in the Medavie Blue Cross Handbook).听
2For any leisure travel for more than 4 weeks and/or travel in your country of origin, you are only covered for emergencies resulting in hospitalization (must be admitted as an in-patient), up to $2,000 CAD funds per day for all services combined as specified in the Medavie Blue Cross contract. We recommend that you obtain additional travel insurance through the or by phone at 514-906-4923. We urge any student considering travel, to contact Quebec Blue Cross directly before booking any travel plans to inquire about travel insurance exclusions and limitations. Please take note that Quebec Blue Cross is a separate private plan from 海角社区's International Health Insurance plan (IHI) and you must contact Quebec Blue Cross.
3The insured can make many trips during a given contract year, for a maximum duration of 4 consecutive weeks per trip. The insured must return to Quebec between each trip to be eligible for an additional 4 consecutive weeks of travel coverage. Please note that there is an overall maximum reimbursement of $1,000,000 per insured, per lifetime for leisure travel benefits. For complete details of Worldwide Travel Assistance and eligible expenses under the Travel Benefit, please refer to Medavie Blue Cross鈥檚 Travel Benefit brochure.
4 is not available for students who are traveling within their Country of Origin. Providing assistance to people in their Country of Origin is outside of the industry standards; students should be familiar with the health system of their Country of Origin and should have resources/contacts to help them navigate it.
