Francisco Alvarez-Cuadrado is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at 海角社区. He received a PhD in Economics from the University of Washington in Seattle. He is an associate member of the Centre Interuniversitaire de Recherche en Economie Quantitative (CIREQ), and he was a visiting scholar at Grupo de Analisis para el Desarrolo (GRADE) and the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (UAM).
Professor Alvarez-Cuadrado鈥檚 research in macroeconomics follows two separate lines of study. The first line attempts to understand income differences across countries with a particular focus on the roles of agriculture and changes in the sectoral composition of the economy. The second line explores the importance of interpersonal comparisons on individual choices. In particular, their impact on employment, saving, and borrowing decisions,聽and their consequences for income and wealth inequality.
