All applicants must register their intent to apply via an online webform and upload a PDF containing 1) a 500-word abstract of proposed research program, 2) a 500-word summary of the integration of candidate’s background, the proposed research program, º£½ÇÉçÇø training environment, supervisor(s)’ expertise, and the faculty’s strategic plan, and 3) a list of Banting referees with their relationship to the applicant, and a justification for the arm’s length referee. Please note that it is critical to adhere to the upload format as instructed (a single PDF format document).

April 25- May 15, 2024

Candidates prepare their FULL APPLICATION. The full application is in one PDF file containing the completed -but un-submitted- , the 4-page research proposal, bibliography, supervisor's statement, and applicant's CCV.

Deadline for candidates to submit their FULL APPLICATION in one PDF file to FMHS via the webform on Faculty's website. FMHS Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs will inform all Departments/units the number of full applications to be submitted. This is expected to be one application per candidate.

Webform for submission of the full application will be available exclusively between ÌýÌýApril 24-May 15, 2024

May 22nd, 2024

Deadline for departments to inform FMHS and selected applicant that their application will move forward for Faculty review.

May 23 – June 5, 2024

Faculty review period. Top candidates will be nominated to GPS.

June 7- June 14, 2024

Submission of complete application on FAD to GPS for final vetting.

Nominated applicants will be informed and provided with FMHS reviewers’ comments.

July and August 2024, date to be confirmed by GPS

Candidates will receive invitations from the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies to attend Graphos writing workshops where they will receive detailed guidance on preparing their applications.

August 2024, date to be confirmed by GPS

Applicant and supervisor arrange for face-to-face or zoom meeting with expert and non-expert reviewers. Applicant revises application in consequence.

September 2024 - Institutional Endorsement Letters to successful nominees will be sent electronically to nominated applicants with a copy to Supervisor by GPS.

Final Submission Deadline in September 2024 (date to be confirmed later): National Banting Fellowship application deadline. Nominees must submit on ResearchNet before the deadline.
