The sponsored combined 2-year internship and 4-year Certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a non-funded program. It is only open to candidates who are graduates of programs that have a contractual sponsorship agreement through the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences. Please check eligibility by contacting omfsprogram.dentistry [at] mcgill.ca. The program is fully accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada. It begins on July 1 of each year.
The clinical program provides training in the following areas:
- Dentoalveolar Surgery
- Maxillofacial Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction
- Maxillofacial Trauma
- Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology
- Orthognathic Surgery / Obstructive Sleep Apnea
- Outpatient Sedation
- Pediatric OMS and Cleft/Craniofacial Surgery
- Preprosthetic Surgery/Implantology
- Temporomandibular Joint Disorders and Surgery
The language of instruction is English.
