Biography: Victoria Marie Glynn is a PhD candidate in the Department of Biology and the Redpath Museum, studying coral resilience to climate change in Panama鈥檚 Tropical Eastern Pacific. During her undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley,聽she聽uncovered a passion for science education through what began as a summer job as a literacy tutor for Spanish-English bilingual youth. This聽experience聽motivated her to obtain a minor in Science and Math Education through the聽CalTeach聽program, where she received pedagogical training and taught over 200 hours in K-12 science classrooms.聽聽
Upon arriving at 海角社区 in 2019, she has been able to continue collaborating on STEM education and outreach initiatives as a Science Education Fellow (formerly T-PULSE) and as the graduate public programming representative for the Redpath Museum. Victoria hopes聽that聽through her involvement in the Office of Science Education she can continue to empower undergraduate students聽and help build inclusive learning communities to improve student engagement and retention in STEM.聽
