If you are interested in becoming a great project manager, then this series is for you. Learn the essential elements of successful project planning and the distinguishing characteristics of high performers. You may be surprised at your findings!

Workshop 1:听

Plan Your Thesis (Part 1 & 2)

This workshop will present introductory concepts in project management, with a particular focus on project initiation and planning.

Conducted over two consecutive mornings, part one will guide you on how to write a project charter, while part two, a project plan. You will be invited to refer your academic thesis as the project within which to frame class work and discussions.

The main objective of this workshop is to help you achieve your academic goals in the most efficient manner possible, structuring your activities according to globally recognized industry standards in project management.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define project management, the role of the project manager, and the project life cycle
  • Understand the strategic need for project feasibility and project planning
  • Identify the essential components of a comprehensive project charter and project plan
  • Assess whether your thesis project meets industry criteria required for successful project planning
  • Engage with fellow students and exchange experiences to better pursue your thesis activities

Workshop 2:

Engaging Project Stakeholders

High performing project managers are effective communicators. Throughout the project life cycle, they leverage project presentations as a call to action, mobilizing stakeholders towards common goals.

This one-hour seminar will address project presentations as strategic vehicles for initiating stakeholder dialogue, strengthening relationships, and increasing buy-in to achieve positive project outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the critical purpose of presentations throughout the project life cycle
  • Identify the main components of a typical project presentation
  • Identify how project presentations change throughout the project life cycle
  • Learn how to keep stakeholders actively engaged both during and after your project presentations
  • Discover how high performers distinguish themselves throughout project presentations
