The Freshman Program is designed to provide a basic science foundation to students entering university for the first time from a high school system (outside of the Quebec CEGEP system). The Freshman year consists of at least 30 credits in Fundamental Math and Science courses as preparation for one of the following degree programs:

  • B.Sc. (Agricultural & Environmental Sciences)
  • B.Eng. (Bioresource)
  • B.Sc. (Nutritional Sciences)
  • B.Sc. (Food Science)
  • Concurrent B.Sc. (Food Science) and B.Sc. (Nutritional Sciences)

Students who have completed the Diploma of Collegial Studies, Advanced Placement Exams, Advanced Levels, the International Baccalaureate, the French Baccalaureate, or º£½ÇÉçÇø Placement examinations may receive exemption and/or credit for all or part of the Basic Science courses in biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics. Similarly, students who have completed courses at other universities or colleges may receive exemptions and/or credits. Students should consult with the Faculty's Student Affairs Office.
