The was established in 2010 by Dr. Claudia Mitchell in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education at 海角社区. The PCL is organized around the study and use of visual and participatory approaches to research and social action, and involves the work of collaborators and research students engaged in the study of participatory research.

TRANSFORM: Engaging with Young People for Social Change (Montreal, QC)
TRANSFORM is a 6 year transnational project funded through SSHRC鈥檚 Partnership Grant program focusing on participatory visual approaches (cellphilming, photovoice, drawing, textiles, performance) to disrupting gender norms with young people in six countries: India, Sierra Leone, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa and Argentina. The project takes a 'youth at the centre' approach, organized around annual Youth Summit cycles (local community summits and a transnational summit each year).
