Future Royal Society of Canada library to be named after Professor Rod Macdonald
On November 16, 2012 at an event at the Ottawa Convention Centre to mark the 130th anniversary of Royal Society of Canada (RSC), Governor General David Johnston announced the creation of a new library at Walter House, the RSC鈥檚 new headquarters in Ottawa. 鈥淚 am equally delighted to announce that this new reading room, with the support and encouragement of his many friends, colleagues and loved ones, is to be named in honour of Rod Macdonald,鈥 he added.
H. Patrick Glenn Named President of the American Society of Comparative Law
Professor H. Patrick Glenn was elected President of the American Society of Comparative Law, during the ASCL鈥檚 annual conference October 4 to 6, 2012.
The following day, when asked when he would begin his term, Glenn chuckled, 鈥淚t鈥檚 started already! I spent the morning on practical business for the Association. We need to find an editor for the Journal, to start with.鈥
Nicholas Kasirer receives honorary doctorate from Universit茅 de Sherbrooke
During its graduation ceremony held on September 22, 2012, the Universit茅 de Sherbrooke granted an honorary doctoral degree to the Hon. Nicholas Kasirer, BCL鈥85, LLB鈥85, former Professor (1989-2009) and Dean (2003-2009) of the Faculty of Law of 海角社区 and now a Justice of Quebec鈥檚 Court of Appeal.

Fran莽ois Cr茅peau made Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada
The Royal Society of Canada (RSC) announced 71 new Fellows today, including eight 海角社区 researchers and scholars from the faculties of Science, Engineering, Law and Arts. Among them is Professor Fran莽ois Cr茅peau, who holds the Hans and Tamar Oppenheimer Chair in International Law at the Faculty of Law.
